Mr. Alexander's Teaching Methods

Project Based Learning

PBL is the act of learning through identifying a real-world problem and developing its solution. Kids show what they learn as they journey through the unit, not just at the end.

Group Projects

Group projects can promote important intellectual and social skills and help to prepare students for a work world in which teamwork and collaboration are increasingly the norm.

Individual Work

Students work at their own pace, they are confident about what they know and what they need to spend more time on, they can use their preferred learning styles and strategies.

Multimedia activities encourage students to work in groups, express their knowledge in multiple ways, solve problems, revise their own work, and construct knowledge.

Mr. Alexander

7th Grade Teacher

Mr. Alexander has been teaching at Sheldon Academy for the past five years. He has over 15 years of experience working with middle school students, seven of which were spent as a para-educator in the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District. These experiences helped him to hone his teachings skills. Mr. Alexander has an enthusiasm for technology and visual arts, and he enjoys finding new ways to incorporate his interests into his lessons. Over his five years at Sheldon, his students have had the opportunity to complete numerous video projects. He hopes to continue his excellence in education by using his passions to aid in his teaching.
